The One
I have been where you fear to be,
I have seen what you fear to see,
I have done what you fear to do -
All these things I have done for you.
I am the person you lean upon,
The one you cast your scorn upon,
The one you bring your troubles to -
All these people I've been for you.
The one you ask to stand apart,
The one you feel should have no heart,
The one you call "The Statie,"
But I'm just a person, not to be hated.
And through the years I've come to see,
That I am not always what you ask of me;
So, take this badge ... take this gun ...
Will you take it ... will anyone?
And when you watch a person die
And hear a battered baby cry,
Then do you think that you can be
All these things you ask of me?

To all law enforcement officers, Thank you for being the one! In memory of the four officer's slain from Lakewood, Washington.

The Ultrasound Pics
Face Shot!! Super cute, a little fist right up next to his face and he's all snuggled up next to the placenta :)
His hand was actually reaching down and grabbing his toes... you can totally see it on the DVD of the ultrasound :)
Body Shot!! All curled up, though he doesn't seem to like that position much if how much he moves around is any indication.
And yep, definitely a boy!! I told you he wasn't shy :)

The Name
Okay so I've narrowed down some names. Looking for "votes" from all my friends. Middle name will more than likely just be the initial "M", that way he's named after alot of people all at once (Both my parents, both my grandfathers, his dad's last name, and his dad's grandfather all start with the letter M). As far as last name it will be the same as mine at this point, it's just WAY easier that way, mom and baby having the same name. Anyways let me know what you think of the names and vote for your favorite on the right side of the screen.

The News
Okay so there is another reason why I traded in my cute little blue sports car for the Murano... See sports cars and babies don't really mix.
Yes that's right I said babies, you don't have to go back and re-read it. I'm pregnant.....
Now that you've all gotten over the shock I'll try to answer some of the questions that I'm sure are going through your mind.
No I'm not getting married anytime soon, though the daddy is still in the picture, we had been off and on for a while and I don't want to make a commitment like that until we spend more consecutive time together. He is very supportive and understanding, but in the meantime I'll be doing the single parent thing, with lots of support from great friends and family.
I'm due March 14 (just in time to miss the open burn at work YAHOO!!) and I just found out this last Friday that it's a boy. It was VERY OBVIOUS, this little guy is not shy at all :) No names picked as of yet, and I'm happy to entertain any suggestions. I'll try to get ultrasound pics up soon.
Okay ya'll BREATHE IN... BREATHE OUT... It's gonna be okay. Yes this is a curve ball I wasn't expecting, but I'm sure I'll be just fine.

The New Crossover
Okay so I know I've been really really lax in blogging the last several months. Laziness is my only excuse. I'll try to be better in the coming months.
A couple weeks ago I traded in my cute little blue sports car and got an AWD crossover, just in time for winter. Here are some pics of my "new" 2006 Nissan Murano. If you look closely you can see Jasper enjoying being up higher with more windows :)

Farewell little Z, you were a fun car and I'll miss you, more in the summertime than the winter time.

The Voice
The Voice
From the voice that you take with you,
on each and every run
The one who never sees you
when you may reach for your gun.
*
I give you the honor,
and the respect that your job deserves.
With the hope of you believing,
I NEVER WANT YOU HURT!
I give you the honor,
and the respect that your job deserves.
With the hope of you believing,
I NEVER WANT YOU HURT!
*
I can't see the child struck down,
or see the Mother's tears,
And I can't see the blood and gore,
left from one too many beers.
I can't see the child struck down,
or see the Mother's tears,
And I can't see the blood and gore,
left from one too many beers.
*
But I can hear the emotion,
you try so hard to hide,
And I can hear the pain you feel,
of another child that died.
But I can hear the emotion,
you try so hard to hide,
And I can hear the pain you feel,
of another child that died.
*
I talk to you and laugh and laugh
at your bad jokes and schemes,
I even sit and listen to your
retirement hopes and dreams.
I talk to you and laugh and laugh
at your bad jokes and schemes,
I even sit and listen to your
retirement hopes and dreams.
*
I do not see you often,
That may be for the best,
If so I might get careless,
and lump you with the rest.
I do not see you often,
That may be for the best,
If so I might get careless,
and lump you with the rest.
*
I can't stop the bullet,
I can't give you peace and make you rest,
to face another day.
I can't stop the fight before you're there,
can't wipe your sweating brow,
I can't stop the bullet,
I can't give you peace and make you rest,
to face another day.
I can't stop the fight before you're there,
can't wipe your sweating brow,

But I CAN hope and pray for you,
that you will be safe somehow.
I talk to frantic people,
try to get the facts you need,
so you will be ever prepared,
to face the horrible deed.
But I CAN hope and pray for you,
that you will be safe somehow.
I talk to frantic people,
try to get the facts you need,
so you will be ever prepared,
to face the horrible deed.
*
I send you out to fight the drunk,
I pray he has no gun,
Dear God, Please help me hear him well,
and see US through this run.
*
And when my day is over,
I pray before I sleep,
Dear God, Please keep my officers safe,
supply just what they need.
Help me always manage,
to be patient, kind and calm,
I know that there are many times,
they feel so all alone.
*
Help me do the best I can,
get them safely through the day,
and somehow let them know, Dear Lord,
YOU WILL lead our way.
*
Show them Lord, the voice they take,
everywhere they go,
wants to do the best they can,
and that I am not their foe.
Teach us Lord, that with your help,
We CAN all survive,
and do our jobs with grace and ease,
Together, with great pride.
*
May all of those who wear a uniform and who protect
us everyday, come home to the ones they
love, just like they left that day.
*
I praise everyone of us who work in the Emergency
Services field, whether they be Volunteer or Paid.
THANK YOU FOR DOING THE JOB THAT YOU DO!!!

The Birthday
Nope, not my birthday. Jasper's!! You all feel free to laugh at me now, but I have to post the fact that it's Jaspers first birthday. Though he'll still have some puppy moments for at least another year, he's still super cute.

The Catch Up
Okay so I know it's been a really long time since I've blogged anything, but to be fair at least a full month of the 2 I've been MIA I was loaded up on Percocet. No I haven't become addicted to pain killers, I developed gall stones and had to have surgery. I have to say I totally blame working dayshift for this, I mean all year long I was on graveyards able to eat anything I want. Spicey, fatty, ethnic, whatever and NO problems with my gall bladder. Then suddenly, after 9 weeks of dayshift, I get gall stones and have to go in for surgery... totally dayshifts fault :)
But being laid up in bed and in pain isn't the only thing I did the last 2 months. There were holidays, happy beginings and endings.
But being laid up in bed and in pain isn't the only thing I did the last 2 months. There were holidays, happy beginings and endings.
First up: A happy ending....

Twilight the movie, have to say I totally loved it! I was able to see it (for the first time) the weekend it came out with Kara, Marty, and Danica. I have now seen it in the theatre THREE times, and still love it, minus a couple cheesy parts. I mean what is with Edward looking like he's going to throw up in Biology ?
Next ... A happy begining

My new little nephew Carter Gage Lundquist born December 17. Carter is #12 of all my neices (7) and nephews (5) and I think he will be totally spoiled for attention. His next oldest sibling is 8 years older than he is so my sister has lots of help. I was there for the grand event and though Carter is super cute, it still doesn't make me want to have kids of my own (sorry Mom).
Next up... A holiday
Nope, not Christmas, I didn't take any pictures of Christmas so I'm not gonna blog about it. I did however take some pictures of New Years. Kara and Marty hosted a party here at our house, and though I bowed out before midnight since I had to work the next day, I did take some pictures of the festivities.
