The Catch Up

Okay so I know it's been a really long time since I've blogged anything, but to be fair at least a full month of the 2 I've been MIA I was loaded up on Percocet. No I haven't become addicted to pain killers, I developed gall stones and had to have surgery. I have to say I totally blame working dayshift for this, I mean all year long I was on graveyards able to eat anything I want. Spicey, fatty, ethnic, whatever and NO problems with my gall bladder. Then suddenly, after 9 weeks of dayshift, I get gall stones and have to go in for surgery... totally dayshifts fault :)

But being laid up in bed and in pain isn't the only thing I did the last 2 months. There were holidays, happy beginings and endings.

First up: A happy ending....

Twilight the movie, have to say I totally loved it! I was able to see it (for the first time) the weekend it came out with Kara, Marty, and Danica. I have now seen it in the theatre THREE times, and still love it, minus a couple cheesy parts. I mean what is with Edward looking like he's going to throw up in Biology ?

Next ... A happy begining

My new little nephew Carter Gage Lundquist born December 17. Carter is #12 of all my neices (7) and nephews (5) and I think he will be totally spoiled for attention. His next oldest sibling is 8 years older than he is so my sister has lots of help. I was there for the grand event and though Carter is super cute, it still doesn't make me want to have kids of my own (sorry Mom).

Next up... A holiday

Nope, not Christmas, I didn't take any pictures of Christmas so I'm not gonna blog about it. I did however take some pictures of New Years. Kara and Marty hosted a party here at our house, and though I bowed out before midnight since I had to work the next day, I did take some pictures of the festivities.

The Friend Lost

The Policeman stood and faced his God, which must always come to pass.
He hopes his shoes were shining just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman. How shall I deal with you ? Have you always turned the other cheek? To my church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said,"No Lord I guess I ain't.
Because those who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had towork most Sundays, and at times my talk was rough...
And sometimes I've been violent because the streets are awful tough.
But I never took a penny that wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked alot of overtime when the bills just got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help, though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgiveme, I've wept unmanly tears,
I know I don't deserve a place among the people here,
They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much, but if you don't...I understand."
There was a silence all around the throne where the saints had often trod,
As the policeman waited quietly for his judgement of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman. You've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on heaven's streets. You've done your time in hell."
